I finally bit the bullet and visited Wax in the City for my first trauma-free bikini wax. (My first bikini wax was actually a horrifying experience at Essentials Spa a few months ago, on which I’ll refrain from elaborating.)
It’s important to understand that “trauma-free” still means that hair was being ripped from my skin with the aid of hot wax—this was no walk in the park, my friends. However, it was nothing like the “blowtorch to the skin” experience I was remembering. They do say it gets easier every time (I guess the nerve endings eventually die), so I have that to look forward to . . . yep, even after all this, I may be going back.
Bottom line, I would strongly recommend Alex at Wax in the City to masochistic people everywhere.
