I must have chosen “Nice” this year, because I feel like the luckiest girl around. Thanks to my new Fuji Roubaix bike from Performance Bicycles, I’m cruising around town like nobody’s business.
Still looking for a New Year’s resolution? You may be interested to know that we have several road race options right here in Boulder each summer. Most of the 2009 dates have yet to be determined, but here are some preliminary details to pique your curiosity:
- The Sunrise Century offers 45, 60, 75, and 100-mile options that are designed to satisfy everyone from beginner to triathlete.
- Venus de Miles is a women’s-only ride offering 35 and 65-mile routes that stretch from Prospect (Longmont) to Niwot and up into Jamestown if you’re so inclined.
- The Buffalo Bicycle Classic, a 30, 65, or 100-mile fundraising race to benefit the CU College of Arts & Sciences, rolls through Boulder and Larimer counties.
- In addition to 31, 62, and 100-mile routes, the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure even has a 12-mile “family fun ride” and a health & wellness village at the finish.
“The bicycle is a curious vehicle. Its passenger is its engine.” –John Howard

Great bike! Wow, it looks super high tech, you should participate in one of those races this new year! I will have water handy for you on the sidelines.
That’s the plan! You’re running the Bolder Boulder with me too, right?
